GAIN Student Challenge 2024

GAIN Student Challenge 2024

On November 15-16, 2024, the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) will launch its third student challenge in collaboration with different Dutch universities. For two days, approximately 50 students will work in interdisciplinary teams to develop sustainable and innovative solutions to one of GAIN’s present-day projects to improve a food system.

With this Student Challenge, GAIN aims to engage students from diverse backgrounds raising awareness of our work on food, nutrition and food systems.

Through expert sessions, we will deepen the students’ understanding of food systems and the global nutrition situation including the link to climate.  The students will get insights into the challenges faced when trying to improve international food systems and nutrition. Coaching will be provided on interdisciplinary teamwork and on how to pitch their solutions to a professional jury.

The winners will receive a broader platform to present their solution – they will be invited to speak in front of GAIN’s respective project team, GAIN’s Senior Management team and Executive Director, and other relevant stakeholders. Their solutions might even be implemented in the field!
