Dr Alok I Ranjan, is the Regional Lead for nutrition in Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He is leading the nutrition work at Foundation for India, Bangladesh, Indonesia and South Asia. Prior to joining Foundation, he was leading the nutrition work for UNICEF India in states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, places which seem to be the epicenter of global burden of undernutrition.
Alok is a medical doctor and has over 15 years of experience in the area of Public Health and Nutrition – across public health research, Polio eradication, Routine immunization, Child Health, Maternal Health, Emergency Health and various aspects of Nutrition like Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN), Micronutrient programs, SAM Management and Large Scale Food Fortification.
He has worked at IIM-Ahmedabad, WHO, UNICEF before he joined BMGF in 2015.
