I am Public Health Nutritionist and received doctorate from The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi for my research work on Childhood Obesity and lifestyle diseases. Over 20 years of experience in Research, Nutrition Surveys, and Policy Making. Specific areas of expertise are Large Scale Food Fortification, Maternal and Child Nutrition, Micronutrient Deficiencies, and Malnutrition. Previously I worked as a Senior Technical Expert with NITI Aayog, The Think tank of the Indian Government, and actively led the Preparation of Reports to Monitor and Evaluate the National Nutrition Mission of India (POSHAN Abhiyaan). An eminent member of a nutrition technical group providing evidence support to many Government and development partner stakeholder groups at the National level. Passionate and committed to leveraging strong research skills and contributing to improving outcomes for the most vulnerable populations of India. Authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
lead the work of the Research & Evidence Cell under the Technical Support Unit (TSU) for the National Nutrition Mission in conducting secondary research, synthesizing evidence and managing field research in areas of Nutrition and Health to meet the objectives of the National Nutrition Mission (NNM).
Prepared and presented three Reports to the Honorable Prime Minister’s Office on the Monitoring and Evaluation of POSHAN Abhiyaan (NNM).
Provide technical inputs to the field teams working in the Aspirational Districts (both Piramal Swastha and Tata Trust), timely evaluate the data, and reports, and suggest the way forward to improve the indicators of Health and Nutrition.
Closely coordinated the work for initiating the Rice Fortification in 14 Aspirational Districts. Liaison with all the concerned Ministries and Departments at the State and National levels for the approvals, EFC, SFC notes, and procurements of Kernels.
Lead the Micronutrient and malnutrition study amongst children under five years of age. The findings of the study were recognized by the Governments of Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.
Lead the implementation of the Comprehensive National Nutrition Survey (CNNS).
