About the Role
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Finance and Administration Manager to provide essential administrative, governance, financial, HR, IT and internal control services to the program operations whilst ensuring compliance with GAIN policies, systems and procedures. The Finance and Administration Manager is expected to be both responsive and proactive to operational requirements with an ability to plan the work of program support.
They will ensure compliance with external requirements, such as local laws and regulations and donors, partner, service provider and vendor contractual obligations. The position holder will be responsible for safeguarding GAIN’s interest in these transactions and interactions, providing effective first level stewardship of GAIN’s assets, resources, staff and premises. They will provide support to the Country Director, staff and consultants in maintaining good relationships with external stakeholders. This will be a fixed term contract running till December 2026, subject to availability of funding and will be based Kigali, Rwanda.
Key Responsibilities include
- Lead the finance function and ensure financial transactions are recorded in line with GAIN norms and standards in a timely fashion.
- Support the Country Director on preparation of program budgets, analysis of grants and expenditure and develop suitable MIS (Management Information System) in coordination with the Finance Officer.
- In collaboration with the global Finance team, prepare and finalize the country budgets.
- In collaboration with program teams, engage in timely preparation of budgets forecasting.
- Oversee monthly closing, ensuring all transactions for the month are recorded accurately and deadlines set by GAIN headquarters are met.
- Ensure accurate and timely release of salary and other payments to staff.
- Oversee the payroll changes implementation and maintain the consistency with HR records at global level.
- Ensure all service contracts are valid and maintained.
- Oversee timely verification of stocks and assets, inventories at the office and project sites as deemed fit.
- Partner with the recruitment team in facilitating staff hiring process of the country office.
- Monitor staff contract expiry dates and ensure timely completion of contract renewal and other formalities.
About you
The ideal candidate should have experience setting up finance, administrative and operations functions within a country office. They should possess strong project management skills with solid experience in budget and grants management, office administration, facilities management, and people management.
The post holder should have proven experience managing donor grants such as SDC, DFID, UNICEF, Dutch, Norway among others. They should demonstrate strong managerial skills, governance, internal audit and compliance in addition to supervising staff.
You should have firm leadership skills that can be utilized across a wide range of functions in role that is central to organizational operations. The candidate should have a professional accounting qualification in addition to graduate level degree specializing in business, HR, IT or related course.
About our Offer
The starting gross salary on offer for this role is from RWF 27,062,064 - RWF 30,886,512 gross per annum, depending on experience.
