Penjani Mkambula is Deputy Director, Programme Services at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). He provides strategic and technical leadership to GAIN’s programmes globally. He also works with GAIN colleagues and partners on programme design and implementation. He has over 20 years’ experience both in non-profit and private sectors. Prior to switching to the international development sector, he worked in food industry where he was involved in supply chains for fortified foods and specialized nutrition products.
Penjani also serves on several boards and expert groups focused on food systems and nutrition such as Board of Iodine Global Network, OECD Advisory Group on Large Scale Food Fortification Regulations and the steering committee of the African Union’s Partnership for Aflatoxin Control in Africa (PACA).
