About the Role
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Project Coordinator, RAINS to support the operational delivery, implementation, and monitoring of the project under the LSFF & Value Chain Portfolio with special focus on RAINS project in Bangladesh. This role will be offered on a fixed-term contract until June 2026, subject to availability of funding. You will be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Reporting to the Portfolio Lead, LSFF and Value Chain, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for tracking the progress and status of the RAINS project activities. You will play a coordination role in GAINs cross-functional project teams and support the maintenance of relationships with partners and stakeholders.
The postholder will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders including the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) and other agencies of the Ministry of Agriculture along with United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) within their assigned project components and ensuring that project outputs and activities are successfully implemented within approved plans, budget, timeline, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities include
- Managing the implementation of the Diversified Resilient Agriculture for Improved Food and Nutrition Security (RAINS) project in Bangladesh in close partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Department of Agricultural Marketing (DAM), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bangladesh National Nutrition Council (BNNC), Private Sectors and other relevant stakeholders.
- Drafting necessary project documentation during the design, planning, and end-to-end implementation of the project as per the GAIN Project Management Guidelines (PMG) i.e. results framework, work plans etc. Conducting assessments and taking part in proposal development
- Coordinating and organizing small to medium events and supporting the Portfolio Lead and other Project Managers to organize National level events
- Identifying, escalating, tracking, and resolving project issues on an ongoing basis, and proactively reporting to the Portfolio Lead issues which require wider attention and resolution
- Building strong partnerships with stakeholders including civil society, INGOs, government entities, farmer’s group, private sector and other organizations
- Supporting the Portfolio Lead in preparing donors’ reports in collaboration with project teams, technical teams, funding teams and support teams
- Developing appropriate narrative reporting and financial accounting documentation for the Portfolio Lead’s review to meet GAIN and donor’s requirements
- Facilitating accurate project budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring that activities costs are kept within budgets
- Developing Terms of Reference for project consultants/suppliers hired on a short-term basis and ensure proper delivery of technical services and submission of technical and other reports within ethical and procurement standards and guidelines
- Ensuring timely monthly project reporting on program progress achieved, program plans, changes in direction and challenges encountered
About You
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with the Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Extension, Department of Agricultural Marketing Bangladesh National Nutrition Council, and Local Government including Union Parishad. You will have proven experience in climate-smart and nutrition-sensitive technologies, integrated farming approaches to collaborate with the farmers' groups and production clusters, and integrated farming business models tailored to the specific needs of women and youth living in poverty and vulnerability and experience working on farmers' health and nutrition, Union Multi-sectoral Platform, Nutrition governance with Multi-sectoral Approach.
The postholder will also have experience in delivering projects on time / on budget, using project management processes and tools including risk management, benefits management, financial management and quality assurance and proven experience in project management in complex and diverse environments.
The ideal candidate will possess good communication and influencing skills as well as excellent command of written and spoken English and Bangla. You will have excellent writing skills and with the analytical capacity and ability to synthesize project outputs and relevant findings to quality project reports. In addition to this, you will be highly flexible and willing to travel field sites frequently.
Bachelor’s degree or above in agricultural science, food technology, food science, nutrition, international relations, governance, development studies or related field. You will be IT literate with excellent MS Office skills, with advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages and experience in handling web-based management systems.
About our Offer
The starting salary on offer for this role is from BDT 1,650,048 – BDT 1,885,548 per annum (gross salary), depending on experience.
