The 2017 Afghanistan Fortification Assessment Coverage Toolkit (FACT) survey is a cross-sectional survey comprised of a household and market assessment. The household assessment is representative at the national level and stratum level (i.e. rural, urban (Kabul) and urban (other)). The aim of the survey was to provide data on household coverage and consumption of fortifiable and fortified foods among children (less than 5 years of age) and women (15-49 years of age), and on availability and quality of fortified foods from markets. The results provide evidence of programme performance, identify programme barriers, and estimate potential for impact.
