Sanjeev Asthana is a recognized leader in Food & Agriculture with over 30 years of experience in India and internationally. He is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Ruchi Soya Industries Limited. He serves as independent director on Board of reputed organization viz. NABCONS (NABARD Subsidiary),
President at Centre of Excellence for Dairy Skills in India (CEDSI); Director, Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) and a non-resident fellow at a think tank in US, The Chicago Council on Global Affairs. Sanjeev has managed large scale businesses across multiple geographies in Europe, Southeast Asia and India including Reliance, Cargill, ITC, Britannia etc. He was President & Chief Executive at Reliance Retail where he conceptualized and scaled up the business and developed robust sourcing and distribution model.
Prior to Reliance stint, Mr. Asthana was Director on Board of Cargill India. He also worked as Country Head, ITC Global Holdings and East Europe Head based at Romania; and also worked with ITC - International Business Division (IBD) Hyderabad and Britannia. He works closely at policy level with Government and International Institutions like GAIN, UNICEF, World Bank, IFC, ADB etc and leading companies on Agriculture, Food Security, Livelihoods and Sustainability. His international affiliation is with The Chicago Council a leading think tank of US on policy issues. Mr. Asthana has served on several Task forces and Committees of the GoI.
He was the Chairman Task Force on Physical Markets for Gol and served on several National Development Committees. He has also chaired various committees of leading industry and trade chambers viz. CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM and PHDCCI. Mr. Asthana is a regular lead speaker at leading conferences in India and Internationally. Some of the recent ones include Harvard University, Boston, World Bank, Beijing and Singapore, ADB, Manila, European Union Parliament, Brussels, G-20 Consultation, The Chicago Council at Washington DC etc
