The National Nutrition Symposium is coming at a time when the country is facing the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic and hence the symposium will be held virtually. The symposium will provide an opportunity to dialogue on the role of nutrition in COVID 19 management and modalities for enhancing dissemination of nutrition information.

Recently GAIN and the Accesss to Nutrition Foundation (ATNF) co-hosted a meeting on "Building Business Commitments for the 2020 Nutrition for Growth Summit" in The Hague. There were 140 participants, with over 60 representatives from the business community. The host was the Government of the Netherlands and the meeting was opened by the Government of Japan, which will host next year’s Global Nutrition Summit.
This project is part of a wider initiative at GAIN on Innovative Finance and aims at assessing and sizing the financial needs of enterprises working along food value chains that could produce nutritious foods in Kenya and Tanzania with a particular focus on SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) and food systems after the farm gate.
