Dr. Elisabetta Lambertini is a Senior Research Scientist at GAIN with 15 years of applied experimental and analytics experience in food and water safety, health risk modeling, and quantitative decision analysis in food and health systems. Based in Washington DC, they oversee the research activities of the GAIN EatSafe Program and provide expertise in food safety and quantitative methods, with focus on informal supply chains of nutritious foods in LMICs. Building upon their background in Public Health Engineering, before joining GAIN they served as principal investigator at the Research Triangle Institute, as a member of the research faculty in the Dept. of Nutrition and Food Science at the University of Maryland, and as a researcher in the Dept. of Food Science and Technology at the University of California at Davis.
